The Falconry Fund Award
The intent of the the Falconry Fund Award is to honor individuals, organizations, or groups that have made exceptional contributions to the Falconry Fund and/or its mission. This prestigious award will recognize and celebrate those who have advanced the art, science, or conservation of falconry through significant philanthropic efforts, advocacy, or impactful initiatives. The Falconry Fund Award will serve as a symbol of gratitude and recognition for contributions that directly support the preservation of falconry, its traditions, and the ecosystems necessary for its practice.
Award Criteria
Recipients of the Falconry Fund Award will be selected by the Falconry Fund Board using the following criteria:
- Significant Contributions: Financial donations, in-kind support, or other valuable resources provided to the Falconry Fund.
- Impact on Conservation: Efforts that have directly supported the preservation of falconry traditions, raptor populations, or their habitats.
- Advocacy and Education: Initiatives that promote public awareness, education, or policy changes benefiting falconry and the natural world.
- Leadership and Dedication: Demonstrated commitment to the Falconry Fund’s mission, showcasing leadership in the falconry and conservation communities.
Award Categories
To ensure that a wide range of contributions are accounted for, the Falconry Fund Award will consider the following categories:
- Individual Excellence: Awarded to an individual for outstanding contributions to the Falconry Fund.
- Organizational Impact: Recognizing nonprofit organizations, corporations, or foundations that have supported the Falconry Fund’s mission.
- Youth Leadership: Celebrating young falconers or conservationists (under 25 years old) who have made remarkable contributions to the Falconry Fund.
- Lifetime Achievement: Honoring an individual with a long-standing commitment to falconry preservation and conservation.
Award Presentation
The Falconry Fund Award will be presented annually during a special event, such as the NAFA meet, Archives Rendezvous, or another prominent falconry-related gathering. The event will include:
- Formal Ceremony: A presentation of the award to the recipient(s) with a commemorative trophy or plaque.
- Recognition: A dedicated segment highlighting the recipient’s contributions, including a video or speech.
- Networking Opportunity: A chance for attendees to connect with leaders in falconry, conservation, and philanthropy.
