Falconry Fund Poised to Power New Projects and Partnerships
The Falconry Fund, a U.S. tax exempt public charity, was founded in 2015, by the North American Falconers Association to conduct programs and activities that perpetuate the legal practice of falconry and safeguard the cultural and natural resources that make it possible.
As part of the Falconry Fund’s continued growth and development in the pursuit of these goals, we are pleased to announce efforts that will formalize and expand our role in facilitating fundraising and grant-giving partnerships to support a wide range of pro-falconry projects.
The Falconry Fund will lead this exciting new program in cooperation with the falconry community. Specifically, the Falconry Fund will solicit, steward, and distribute funds that support worthy projects. Applications for grants from several different funding streams can be made through the Falconry Fund website.
“The falconry community, holds a wealth of knowledge, expertise and energy” said Falconry Fund President Mark Adam, “which we hope to unlock by partnering with the community and funding their efforts.”
“To this end” Mark Adam continued, “the Falconry Fund will seek out and fund impactful projects and organizations that share its core goals to protect wild raptors, quarry species, and their ecosystems, preserving our cultural heritage and long-standing traditions, and helping the community foster connections between people and birds of prey by supporting projects that focus on education and communication.”
NAFA President Martin Geleynse added, “NAFA has long understood the need to have a charitable organization that can complement the role NAFA serves, and we are very pleased to see the Falconry Fund continue to grow its capabilities. We look forward leveraging our partnership with the Falconry Fund to protect and advance the art and practice of falconry.”
As one example, The Falconry Fund has partnered with renowned wildlife sculptor and falconer, Jeremy Bradshaw, to undertake joint fundraising efforts with The Archives of Falconry.
